Rumors Surround the Return of the Scat Pack

Recently, the Scat Pack trademark was up for renewal and guess what, Chrysler actually renewed it! Since then, rumors have been developing about the possible return of the muscle car clan.

Now as most of us remember the Scat Pack that grew in the 1960's and into the 1970's. The group was definitely something to be marked in the books for Dodge history. The Pack included the:

  • Swinger 340
  • Dart GTS
  • Super Bee
  • Coronet R/T
  • Charger R/T

Eventually, other models were added, like the Charger Daytona plus the 340 Demon. The promotional feat was completed in 1971.

Through the campaign, Dodge moved 100,000 Chargers. The brand quickly realized that having vehicles be part of a series encouraged desirability among their customers.

The Scat Pack was even more entertaining than just purchasing a new muscle car because you could accessorize with their own Scat Packages. There were kits to dress up your vehicle, strip/drag kits numerous other accessories. Owners of a Scat Pack car could receive access to a specialized catalog, a bumper sticker, a jacket patch and more, making them feel a part of the club.

While Chrysler hasn't confirmed nor denied the return of the Scat Pack, us here at Cronic Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM in Griffin, GA, really hope there will be a big return. In the interim, we invite you to check out our new Chrysler and Dodge inventory to see if any of them strike your interest. There are many powerful cars to spark up a conversation that could lead into a thrilling test drive.
